Intrinsic to human rights law is the idea that all human beings should be guaranteed certain "inalienable rights" and that these rights should be the framework for peace and justice within the international community (2). This declaration clashes with most nationalist principles because it focuses on the individual at the expense of civil society. While Nationalism seeks to "foster solidarity with other members of my nation," (1) the concept of international human rights proposes that the solidarity should be with all other human beings (2).
