Three-way meetings were held involving the supervisor, her supervisor and myself with the intention of determining the characteristics of highly accurate transcribing workers. We interviewed and tested her three top performers to determine common variables. The surprising findings revealed that a college degree in any subject, a love for reading and printed material, and exposure to one or more foreign languages were characteristic of all three highly capable workers.
Recruitment procedures were altered somewhat to reflect the new data.
