Avon provides a powerful example of how the top positions are wrested away from women who were more than qualified for the job. When Avon's board were deciding on a CEO last December, it opted for Charles Perrin, a former CEO from Duracell International Inc., instead of two high-ranking female members from its company. Adding to this story, the potential heirs to the positions were not even board members of the company (Dalton & Daily 20).
