AREA OF PROFICIENCY: PRINCIPLES OF SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT
This work will include (a) a critical analysis of theories of sociocultural change and development, (b) a review of the social history of community health care, (c) a research-based analysis of the effects of social forces on the delivery of community health services, and (d) a public policy analysis of a relevant and important community health issue.
The learning objectives for this work will include the following:
Developing an understanding of the breadth of theoretical issues of sociocultural change and development
Developing an understanding in depth of the theoretical issues of sociocultural change and development
Developing an understanding of the links between poverty and sociocultural change and development
An understanding of the functioning of the process of sociocultural change and development is essential to the development of effective practices for the delivery of health services through effective social outreach.
Through the preparation of a comprehensive paper, the following work will be evaluated:
